Your Tampa Commercial, Business, and Financial Service Litigation Law Firm
Focused strategies for disputes that put your company, career, or reputation at risk.
At Chemere Ellis, PLLC, we represent businesses, professionals, and institutions in Tampa and across the state of Florida in commercial, business, and securities matters. From contract fallouts to FINRA arbitrations, we build strategies that protect operations, licenses, and reputations. Every case is handled with direct attention, clear communication, and trial readiness.
Commercial & Business Litigation
Contract disputes, partner disagreements, and fraud allegations aren’t just setbacks, they are legal challenges that demand swift, strategic action. Left unresolved, they drain resources and strain business relationships.
Our firm handles all types of contract disputes. That includes both enforcing agreements and challenging their validity. We also represent clients in partnership and shareholder conflicts, restrictive covenant issues, and claims of fraud or misrepresentation. In addition, we handle trade secret and privacy disputes, business torts, and regulatory enforcement actions. In every matter, we move quickly to assess the facts, identify leverage, and pursue the outcome that best protects your business.
Financial Services & Securities Litigation
For financial services professionals, disputes aren’t just about money; they affect licenses, careers, and futures. A single U5 disclosure, arbitration claim, or regulatory inquiry can restrict opportunities for years.
Chemere Ellis, PLLC defends broker-dealers and their registered representatives in FINRA arbitrations, Form U5 disputes, Rule 8210 requests, SEC inquiries, and investor claims. We know what’s at stake and craft strategies that protect both your reputation and your long-term career.
About our Founder
Meet Chemere Ellis
Chemere Ellis has spent her career handling high-stakes disputes across Florida courtrooms and arbitration forums. Before founding her own firm, she served as a prosecutor in Florida’s Sixth Judicial Circuit, where she tried more than forty cases, including serious felony charges, earning a reputation for skill and persistence in the courtroom.
She later worked as a commercial litigator at one of Florida’s premier law firms, representing businesses and individuals in complex contract, securities, and trade secret disputes.
Today, Chemere brings both perspectives, prosecution and defense, into every case. From day one, she is directly involved in strategy, filings, and trial preparation. Clients never get lost in a system or shuffled between departments. Instead, communication is clear, timelines are set, and progress is visible.
Her leadership roles in Tampa’s legal community, including co-chairing the Securities Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and serving as President of the George Edgecomb Bar Association, reflect her commitment to both excellence and service.

Why Businesses and Professionals Need a Litigation Lawyer in Tampa

Under Florida law, businesses such as corporations, LLCs, and partnerships cannot represent themselves. They must appear through a licensed Florida attorney.
Even when self-representation is allowed for individuals, it often creates risks. Without counsel, there is a loss of objectivity and a higher chance of overlooking court rules, procedures, and filing requirements.
Acting quickly also matters. If you don’t preserve evidence or miss critical filings and deadlines, you can lose leverage in weeks. Whether you are a business facing a contract claim or a professional responding to a regulatory inquiry, having counsel in place early protects your position, reduces risk, and creates options for resolution before matters escalate.
