Earlier this year, Chemere Ellis volunteered to assist an inmate pro bono on a 42 U.S. Code § 1983 matter that survived summary judgment and would soon be scheduled for trial.  The plaintiff had suffered long lasting physical and mental health injuries as a result of a sexual solicitation and physical assault while incarcerated. Chemere volunteered to represent the plaintiff.

Chemere successfully dealt with various complex discovery issues, including petitioning the Court to reopen discovery and seeking remedies for the spoliation of crucial evidence. Chemere then participated in a settlement conference before a Magistrate Judge and settled the matter for their client. Chemere Ellis, LLC is very proud of this result and supports pro bono efforts.
